Aya Zein is a Lebanese artist living in Beirut; she is a graduate of the Lebanese American University, where she studied fine arts. Her artistic philosophy is to make sense of life’s simplicity and find beauty in the ordinary. Random objects and daily encounters inspire her to rethink complex forms and environments through the filter of her minimalistic expression.
Working with serene landscapes and carefully composed still-life images, Aya simplifies even the most elaborate forms and often eliminates light and shadow to create flat forms in her paintings.
This is one artistic strategy through which she reflects her hope for a world uncongested by many of the complexities of contemporary life: a space of refuge and an invitation to view political, social, and personal entanglements from a simpler, clearer and more serene perspective.

Her first solo exhibition “Where Art meets God’s Creations” will take place at Rebirth Beirut, Gemmayze, in July 2026. Her delicate interplay between flowers and animals, two of nature’s most exquisite creations, is celebrated in this exhibition. The artworks examine the harmonious coexistence of wildlife and plant life through the use of color, texture and form, signifying development, independence, resilience and the interdependence of all living things. Every piece encourages viewers to consider the harmony that supports life on Earth and to appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
