William Bardawil

Born in Manchester, UK, in 1926

In 1949 he graduated from the AUB as a civil engineer.
In 1956 entered the Accademy of Fine Art in Florence, where he was a student of  of Ottone Rosai.

Bardawil lived several years in Florence, and Europe, where he took part in numerous personal and collective shows. After a stay in Kuwait and Cyprus, he presently lives between Italy and Lebanon.

The selected artworks (1995 – 2006) reflect the inner thoughts and moods of the artist across a carrier full of various inspirations.
Nature is always there, tireless source of images:
It appears full of lyrism, emerging out of  fresh, luminous colors, and exploding so gently on the canvas…Tuscany, Dubai, Paphos, Byblos,…

In 2014 W. Bardawil wrote a book after many years of research: ‘Meditations on the Qurán’ (translation into Arabic by Roula Hassoun). Some of his paintings and drawings appear in the book.
